New Website. New Us!
First thing’s first! Welcome to the new website!
As you can probably see, it pretty much looks the same as the old version. But the new one has some pretty awesome upgrades.
First: A totally different event calendar set-up. List view, monthly view, weekly view, it’s all there. And everything links to our same ticketing platform so it’s easy and familiar to get your tickets.
The new-and-improved calendar set-up even allows us to use symbols to designate things like translations, large print program booklets, and more. If you want to learn more about these, read more here.
Second: We’re beyond excited to introduce our new Sustaining Contributors account management capabilities. As a Sustainer you’ve no doubt noticed you had to create an account to read this post.
With these accounts you can upgrade or downgrade your Sustaining Contribution level, pause or resume your Sustaining Contribution, or any other combination you can think of.
Third: Your Sustaining Contributor account give you immediate access to every benefit, like this blog, our new Live From Home video series (see below), and countless other benefits.
Everytime you login you’ll be taken to the “Welcome Back” page which will constantly be updated with the latest and greatest.
When life hands you lemons, you make home videos?
With all of the changes going on in the world, it’s made us think about how we approach our programming. And it’s changed how we view our role in the world of classical music.
So many other organizations are sharing videos of their musicians collaborating from their homes. Given the amount of organization that are making these videos, we’ve decided we’ll play along as well!
But, if you’ve been following us for any time, you know we don’t do things like everyone else.
What’s the good of having a cool video with some excellent performances without, let’s say, program notes? How can sharing free videos of performances ensure the longevity of any organization?
Here’s how we’re going to do it:
- Starting on May 15, we’ll be posting a new video twice a month (until at least July)
- A one or two minute clip from each performance will be shared publicly on Facebook through our YouTube channel
- Cool info in program-notes-style will be shared with the clips
- Only Sustainers will be able to access the full performance through their accounts on LaGrandeBande.org
Our Live From Home video series will ensure that La Grande Bande continues to meet its missions of sharing incredible performances and educational programming with the public.
