Join us for a concert of sacred and secular music by three outstanding Baroque composers: Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Muffat, and Marc-Antoine Charpentier. Georg Muffat’s French-inspired concerto grosso is surrounded by two powerful sacred works: Bach’s Jauchzet gott in Allen landen, BWV 51 and Charpentier’s, rarely-heard and strikingly-beautiful, Première leçon du Vendredi Saint. A wonderful evening not to be missed.
The concert will be presented using Baroque strings and continuo instruments. Texts will be sung in German and Latin with translations available in the program booklet.
