Alyssa Campbell is an American violinist and violist originally from Detroit, Michigan and currently residing in New York City. As a musician, she is deeply committed to performance practice from the 16th to 19th centuries, and aims to engage in a well-rounded and open-minded approach to music making informed by research. Alyssa has played both violin and viola with ensembles across the United States and Europe, including Les Arts Florissants, Arcangelo, The Handel & Haydn Society, The Orchestra of the 18th-Century, Teatro Nuovo, The Smithsonian Academy Orchestra, and ARTEK Early Music. She has worked with prominent conductors including William Christie, Maasaki Suzuki, Richard Egarr, Jakob Lehmann, Paul Agnew, and Laurence Equilbey, and has been heard at festivals such as Tanglewood, The Boston Early Music Festival, The BBC Proms, Musica Antica, Dans de Jardins de William Christie, Festival de Torroella de Montgrí, Arte Solidale, Music Before 1800, Gotham Early Music Scene, and Bremen Musikfest. Additionally, Alyssa is a founding member of The Fooles, a 17th-century string band based in NYC that presents research-informed performances of music from the early modern period. In 2023, The Fooles were an Early Music America Emerging Artist laureate, and in 2025 they made their Boston Early Music Festival debut. As a chamber musician, Alyssa also performs regularly with Duo Serrano, a fortepiano and violin duo based in The Netherlands, and The Arrow String Quartet in New York City.

Alyssa holds an Artist Certificate from the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, a Masters Degree from The Juilliard School, and a Bachelors from the University of Michigan.
